The
Sonic Palpometer - A Pain Measurement and Assessment Tool
The Sonic Palpometer is a device that measures the pressure of the examiner's finger during manual palpation.
This controlled palpation provides the examiner
with objective information in form of acoustic signals (beeps), on how firmly or softly to press the tissues,
thereby standardizing the pressure stimulus of conventional manual palpation.

The Palpometer pain assessment
technology has been patented in the US, Canada, and Japan.
Potential applications of Palpometer include: musculoskeletal
tenderness measurements, tracking and monitoring response in trials, and teaching
manual palpation techniques. Potential users of the device include researchers,
students, and allied health professionals learning manual palpation.
